“I hold no prejudice with music, if it’s good, I will play it!
I love to DJ! Playing music to others and rockin’ parties is my passion”.

DJ Shorty

Based in South East London, UK, Shorty has been DJ’ing now for nearly 10 years. Playing music ranging between Hip-Hop, Funk, Breaks, House, Drum n Bass

7 years ago, Shorty saw a video of DJ QBert which introduced him to the world of turntablism, and changed his life for ever and how he looks at decks.

Investing in his first set of Technics Decks and scratch mixer, he got to practicing. Over the years, he learnt to incorporate turntablism into his sets to keep the focus on the music, but still show the skills! He entered UK DMC two years ago, making it all the way to the London finals but got knocked out by DJ Skully, the man who went on to win the UK title.

He also plays with a Jazz outfit know as ‘The Naked Sunday Collective’ (or N.S.C) where turntablism is combined with live jazz & breaks. The NSC played at Glastonbury 2005 as well as warming up for Courtney Pine at the London Jazz Festival 2004.

Shorty also has a regular Hip Hop show on Force FM Radio.
