This week (18th January) we begin the year long celebrations! DJ Saffrolla takes to the hot seat for the first hour with fresh beats for the new year. Music on offer from Jim Sharp, The Sweaty Hunks, Soft Tigers and of course some choice cuts from the Saffrolla hard drive. Big! Into the second hour. 2008 marks the 20th anniversary of Solid Steel’s first appearance on the airwaves so we’ve raided Coldcut’s archives and get together with collectors from around the world to bring you vintage mixes and shows from yesteryear. We start with this legendary show from 1991 which features Coldcut in the studio with the Orb at Kiss FM, London. The tracklist isn’t complete, but includes Doug Lazy, Brian Eno & David Byrne, plus plenty of early tracks from Coldcut and the Orb themselves.
