As you have probably noticed saffrolla.com is back online, the site is still going through some tweeks but bear with us as we hope to bring you more news, live dates and tunes.

a quick update: we are currently getting together the new single (double A side) “Monster Island” one called Monster and the other island (if you get me) so put your ears on for that one. The last E.P “Love to hater War” featuring the wizard of words Blu Rum 13 went down a treat with alot of different style musical heads and some of the tracks and remixes are getting on radio and cd compilations worldwide.

You will have probably noticed that the Saffrolla tunes are now being released on a small but growing indie label called “Disc La Tik” so keep in touch for further releases from these guys.

So here it is, the end of another year and we are going out in style. New Years is all about the paaarrrttyyyy!! Party tunes, party atmosphere and party people, so that’s what’s going to happen!!
One of my favourite party rocking djs – Saffrolla is flying in to rock the club again. Saffrolla has played more Cosmic Jams/Contraflows than any other of our guest djs and it’s for a good reason – you love him and so do I Top producer, a pure party rocker and regular guest on the Ninja tune Solid Steel radio show as well as djing all over the world, mixing up the hip hop, breaks, miami bass, dubstep, drum and bass, reggae and anything that makes you shake it. Can’t wait for his special end of year party set..

Ginglik club is possibly closing

Hammersmith and Fulham council (our landlords) are planning to fill Ginglik in with concrete in March ’08 due to the redevelopment of Shepherds Bush Common. Go to http://www.ginglik.co.uk/saveginglik.html for more details

Since the announcement of the proposed closure of Ginglik your emails and words of support have been flooding in. These are all so appreciated, thank you.

We are asking for you to continue your support.
We need you to fight with us to help save our venue… to help save your venue!
On Saturday 20th September we will be holding a protest above Ginglik.
We need to demonstrate what Ginglik means to us all.

Local & National press have already shown their interest in supporting this cause and will be joining us in the fight on the day. Influential supporters have been invited to speak on the day and to show our gratitude we will be arranging a free BBQ and drinks for you as well as some quality live music.

There will be placards with slogans on them for you to hold but by all means bring your own too. If you have a clever slogan but don’t have the time to make your placard yourself then e-mail us your idea and we’ll make it for you.

Not only have we lined up the master… DJ Krust (Full Cycle) but, just for you we have some serious support from… Saffrolla (Solid Steel) & DJ Shorty (DMC Finalist) – 4 deck set

DJ Krust is the co-founder of Bristol’s Full Cycle crew (with Roni Size, DJ Die and Suv). The 5th of September will see this Superstar DJ spin a super rare one off alternative set, especially for you members of Ginglik. Expect funk, jazz-tinged hip hop & rare groove, classic b-boy breaks to fresh cuts from one of the original pioneers of drum n bass. Krust is much noted in the drum and bass underground for his push-the-envelope productions both alone and in collaboration with Roni Size but this night will put all that to shame.
